Serverwacht: an email and SMS on outage
This is how you get notified when your site or server goes offline: for your services at Netslim and for servers elsewhere. What we check, when you get an alert and what it costs.

With Serverwacht you hear right away when a site or server goes offline, and again when it's back. You can find it in your account under Serverwacht.
Your services at Netslim
We already monitor hosting, WordPress, VPS and dedicated servers at Netslim, every 5 minutes. With hosting and WordPress, we fix many outages automatically. Choose per service whether you want a notification:
- Email: free. You get an email on an outage and when everything works again.
- SMS: with SMS on outage, € 2.95 per month excl. VAT (€ 3.57 incl. VAT) or € 29.50 per year, with 25 SMS messages per month for all your services combined.
If a form, signup or order crashes on your site while the pages still load, you also get a message about it, including the error message.
Servers and sites elsewhere
If something runs at another host or on your own server, we monitor it too: € 7.95 per address per month excl. VAT (€ 9.62 incl. VAT) or € 79.50 per year, with 30 SMS messages per month.
- Website: we open your web address like a visitor. A server error, an error page, no response within 15 seconds or a critical WordPress error counts as offline. Optionally, you can set a word that must always be on the page.
- Server: we connect to a port, for example 22 (SSH) or 993 (mail).
- With https, we warn you 14 and 3 days before the SSL certificate expires.
- You see the uptime over 30 days, the average response time and the latest outages.
We only monitor addresses that are reachable from the internet, not internal addresses.
When do you get an alert?
After two failed checks in a row, so within about 10 minutes. A single failure does not count, so you don't get false alarms. Once it is reachable again, you get a message saying how long the outage lasted.
Text messages
Enter your mobile number in your account. Text messages come in a bundle per month and are prepaid. If the bundle runs out, you only get email until the end of the month, plus one message saying the bundle is used up. You never pay afterwards for extra text messages.
Prefer no worries at all?
With a server elsewhere, we can only monitor, not step in. If you move to Netslim, monitoring is included and we fix many outages ourselves. Moving is free.
