Fast is not the same as always online
Server-side caching makes a site faster, but it sits on the same machine. If the server crashes, an update goes wrong or your hosting provider has an outage, the cache goes down with it. Every minute then costs revenue and trust.

Two servers, one edge

Why not just server-side caching?
Caching on your server is good for speed. But for an enterprise shop, what matters most is what happens when things go wrong.

Honest
A backup web server covers for a broken, overloaded or unreachable server. It does not cover a bug in your own code. That also reaches the backup through synchronisation. How current the backup is depends on the plan. With Reserve Basis, the database can lag behind by up to an hour.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Edge SEO?
No. The backup web server works with every Netslim Edge plan, even with only Edge Shield or the waiting room.
What is the difference with Always online?
During an outage, Always online shows the latest copy of pages that have been visited before. The backup web server is a real second server: search, filters and pages that were not in the copy yet also work as normal.
My site runs with another provider. Is that possible?
Yes. Choose Own or other server if you have a second server yourself, or Backup Basic or Pro if we set it up for you. Your origin server stays where it is.
What if the backup is down too?
Then the edge shows the last good version of your pages, just like without a backup. This gives you two safety nets.
Can I cancel?
