Log and auto mode: errors that fix themselves

Where you see every error on your site, what to do with it, and how auto mode redirects broken addresses on its own.

2 min read · updated 13 Oct 2026

Under Edge › Log you see every error the edge saw, per address: pages that don’t exist (404), errors from your web server (500, 502, 503, 504), what the firewall blocked, who got the browser check and which scanners guessed at files like .env. You see how often, when it last happened and whether Google saw it.

Filter, search and sort

At the top, choose the type of error, the period (24 hours to 60 days) and who it was: Google, other bots or regular visitors. Search on part of the address and click a column header to sort. With CSV you download everything for your developer.

Who fixes it?

Every message says what it means and who fixes it. Via the edge: you do this with one click in the log, for example redirecting a broken address or allowing a path in the firewall. On your web server: this is in your site or server itself, such as a PHP error or a server that was down. There is advice for your developer, or you can have us look into it.

The best target for a broken address

Expand a 404. Under Best target you see the pages that look most like it, with a score. Click one and choose Redirect (301). If the right one isn’t listed, use the search field: it searches all your pages live. If the page really no longer exists, set it to 410 (gone).

Auto mode

If you turn on auto mode, the edge handles it itself. It redirects broken addresses with a clear best target every hour, but only after a check: the old address really returns a 404, and the target works and is not set to noindex. It leaves doubtful cases to you. If you have connected an AI, the SEO assistant also improves titles and descriptions without you having to approve them.

On every Edge tab you then see Auto mode is on, with what it did. Click What did it do? for the list. You can undo every redirect with one click, and it leaves that address alone after that. If you turn auto mode off, the SEO assistant goes back to how it was.
