Selling in multiple languages across Europe with Netslim Edge

One brand, ten countries, different domains and platforms: this is how you manage hreflang, translations, redirects and speed from one place.

If you sell in several countries, you usually end up with a mix: .nl and .be on WooCommerce, .de on Shopify, and a French site that an agency built a while ago. Google then needs to know which page belongs to which country and language. This often goes wrong. With Netslim Edge you manage it in one place, independent of the platforms.

1. Choose your setup

  • Own domain per country (merk.nl, merk.de, merk.fr): the strongest signal for Google and visitors. With us, each domain is a separate site.
  • Subfolders (merk.eu/nl/, merk.eu/de/): everything on one domain, easy to manage.
  • Subdomains (de.merk.com): also possible. With us, these are also separate sites.

All three work with Edge. If you are unsure, we will advise you in the Edge SEO Scan on what suits your situation best.

2. Get hreflang right in one go

Hreflang tells Google which version belongs to which country and language. Every page must point to all of its translations, and those translations must point back. On different platforms, this is almost impossible to keep up.

  1. You provide (or we create) a list: per product or page, the URLs in each country.
  2. The edge adds the hreflang tags to every page, on all domains at once, even if they run on different platforms.
  3. Adding a new country? One column in the list, and it is correct everywhere.

Don't forget x-default not: the version for visitors outside your countries, often the English or your international site.

3. Titles and descriptions per language

With the SEO assistant, AI (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral or your own model) writes titles and descriptions in the language of the page. You can use a separate style and brand suffix per country. For large catalogs this works in bulk: you first approve 20 examples, then the AI does the rest.

4. Redirects for a migration or new country

If a country moves to a new domain or platform, you can redirect the old addresses in one go with a CSV. Live in 30 seconds, without a developer. In your account you see how often each redirect is used, and which errors Google still runs into.

5. Fast in every country

The edge servers are in Germany, in the middle of Europe. Pages are served from the edge cache, with HTTP/3 and compression. Do you also sell outside Europe? Then Cloudflare can stay in front (see Using Netslim Edge and Cloudflare together).

6. AI and GEO per country

In your account you see which AI crawlers read each domain and how many visitors ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude send per country. Set a per-domain llms.txt in the right language, so AI assistants in Germany or France also know what you do.
