Always online: your site stays visible during outages

What visitors see when your web server fails, during a deploy or maintenance, and what your team sees.

The edge keeps the last good version of every page. If your web server returns a server error, is unreachable, or is in maintenance mode, visitors see that last good version instead of an error message.

What visitors notice

  • Product pages, categories and blogs stay visible as usual.
  • We never show the cart, checkout and my account from a copy. Visitors see a clear page saying we will be back soon. This way, no wrong orders come in.
  • Search engines see no errors, so your rankings do not suffer.

What your team sees

From the IP addresses you provide (office, developer) you see the real site, including the error. This lets your developer keep working while visitors notice nothing.

Maintenance or a deploy

Is your site going into maintenance for a while? Then we can set up the edge so visitors keep seeing the last version, and only the cart is temporarily closed. Let us know in advance.

Even more certainty: a backup server

Can your web shop never go down? Then a second web server can sit behind the edge and take over. See Backup web server (shadow origin).
