SEO guard: spot and fix errors within minutes of an update

An accidental noindex, missing titles or a page with Google traffic that returns 404: this is how the edge warns you and fixes it.

1 min read · updated 11 Oct 2026

It happens to the best teams: after an update to your site, suddenly there is a noindex on important pages, titles are empty or the canonical points to another page. Google picks this up within a few days and your traffic drops. An SEO tool only sees it at the next crawl.

What the guard does

The edge sees every page it serves and compares it with what it saw before. It checks for:

  • a new noindex on a page that was previously allowed in Google;
  • a title that is suddenly empty;
  • a canonical that suddenly points to another page;
  • a page with traffic from Google that returns 404 (with Search Console connected).

Changes you made on the edge yourself are not counted.

Alert and fix

You (and your team) get an email within a few minutes, showing for each page how many clicks from Google are at stake. In Edge SEO › Site Health you fix it with one click at the edge: back in Google, the old title restored or the canonical pointing to the page itself again. Meanwhile, your developer fixes the cause in the site. Was it intentional? Choose That's correct. If it resolves by itself, we close the alert.
