Edge Protect: what the edge checks and how to turn it on

Infected pages, hidden spam, uploads, your payment page, trackers, accessibility, copy bots and images: what each feature does and where to find it.

2 min read · updated 12 Oct 2026

Edge Protect uses the moment the edge already reads your page to check for anything that should not be there. You can find it in your account under Edge › Security, at the top.

What gets checked

  • Infected pages: cryptominers, scripts that redirect visitors, hidden code, invisible iframes and skimmers. This includes the version that is only shown to Google.
  • Hidden spam: invisible blocks with links and words like casino, pills or replica.
  • Uploads: files that come in through a form. A program disguised as a photo, a double extension or a test virus does not get through.
  • Payment page: which scripts load on your checkout and payment pages. If a new one appears, you get an email.
  • Closing vulnerabilities: known vulnerabilities in WordPress plugins are blocked at the edge. Included in every Edge plan.
  • Trackers: which trackers load before your visitor gives consent (GDPR).
  • Accessibility: safe fixes such as the page language, allowing zoom and names for fields.
  • Copy bots: anyone who requests a very large number of pages per minute without being a real search engine gets a check first.
  • Images: JPG and PNG as WebP for browsers that support it.

Turning on and off

Under Features you tick what you want and click Save. Within a minute it is active on all edge servers. Features that are not in your plan can be added below with one click.

What does it cost?

Edge Protect € 29, Edge Privacy (trackers, cookie consent and accessibility) € 19 and Edge Images € 9 per month per site. All together (Complete) € 49. Yearly = 2 months free. Edge SEO and Enterprise include everything. Prices excl. VAT.

What Edge Protect does not do

The edge sees what travels over the line. It does not see files that sit quietly on your server and are never requested. So keep updating, use strong passwords with two-step verification and make backups.
